Is the Pan Am Cursed?

We hope not!

Since the tournament kicked off last July 1st, 3 players (1 per day) from different teams got injured.

On the first day, Gina Mambru from the Dominican Republic injured her knee against Canada. She was immediately taken to the nearest hospital for X-Ray. Mambru got injured last year before the World Champs and this tournament would’ve been her comeback but sadly she would to wait for weeks to recover. We’ve been informed that her injury is serious & she will be away for 6 months. Bummer!

Puerto Rico‘s superstar Aurea Cruz twister her ankle on Day 2 of the competition against USA. We’re not sure if it’s serious or not but her absence from the team is a huge blow because Aury is Puerto Rico’s most effective weapon.

UPDATE: We have contacted Aury and she said that she will play today (July 5th) against Peru.

Then yesterday, Carla Rueda from Peru hurt her knee and by looking at the video below it looks serious. We actually tried not to watch this video since it looked too painful for us.

We hope no one gets hurt or injured anymore. Stop the “injury curse” at the Pan American Cup!

Be Safe Everyone!
