BYU Wins Gaucho Tournament

Despite the bad publicity but it’s still publicity about their men’s volleyball program and the absence of some experienced players like Kevin Sagers & Rusty Lavaja, a young breed of  BYU Cougars managed to win the 47th Gaucho Invitational Tournament hosted by UC Santa Barbara.

Freshman Taylor Sander from BYU was named the as the MVP of the tourney.

In case you wonder what the GAUCHO Tournament is, we found the answer from the UCSB site:

The Gaucho Fund, launched as part of the Dare to Be Great strategic plan, is UCSB Athletics’ annual giving program to provide vital funding support for scholarships, academic success and leadership development for Gaucho student-athletes. The Gaucho Fund is the anchor to the Dare to Be Great campaign.
