Brazil’s Libero Serginho Returns To National Team

We do kind of miss him!

2004 Olympic gold medalist and still one of the world’s best libero despite retiring after the 2012 Olympics, Sergio, is on Brazil’s team roster for the 2015 season. If things go well, then we will most likely see the 39 year old next year at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

Preliminary Roster For 2015 World League:

Setters:
Bruno Rezende (Parmareggio Modena)
William Arjona (Sada Cruzeiro)
Raphael Vieira (Funvic/Taubaté)
Murilo Radke (Budva Budvanska Rivijera)
Fernando Kreling (Sada Cruzeiro)

Opposite Hitters:
Wallace Souza (Sada Cruzeiro)
Leandro Vissotto (JT Thunders)
Evandro Guerra (Suntory Sunbirds)
Renan Buiatti (CMC Ravenna)

Outside Hitters:
Murilo Endres (SESI-SP)
Ricardo Lucarelli (SESI-SP)
Maurício Borges (SESI-SP)
Lucas Lóh (ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle)
Samuel Fuchs (Minas Tênis Clube)
Felipe Fonteles (Funvic/Taubaté)

Middle Blockers:
Riad Ribeiro (SESI-SP)
Lucas Saatkamp (SESI-SP)
Maurício Souza (Funvic/Taubaté)
Éder Carbonera (Sada Cruzeiro)
Isac Viana (Sada Cruzeiro)
Sidão (Funvic/Taubaté)

Liberos:
Felipe Lourenço (Funvic/Taubaté)
Mário Jr. (Copra Piacenza)
Serginho (SESI-SP)
Tiago Brendle (Ziober Maringá)

We were hoping to see Dante Amaral on the roster.

On the other hand, this team will be led by no other than Murilo.

Good luck Brazil!
