Most Expensive Volleyball Lawsuit $20 Million!

This is by far the MOST EXPENSIVE VOLLEYBALL LAWSUIT we’ve ever heard, read and posted!

Per silive.com:

A Stapleton intermediate school student lost sight in one eye when a volleyball slammed into her head during gym class last year, alleges a $20 million lawsuit.

Takeya Karim was “forced” by her gym teacher at Dreyfus Intermediate School to play volleyball on May 30, 2014, even though she wasn’t allowed to, contends suit papers recently filed in state Supreme Court, St. George.

The school had been notified Takeya “was not permitted to participate in any contact sports,” said a Notice of Claim, which was incorporated into the civil lawsuit documents.

Takeya suffered “severe and permanent injuries” including “swelling and complete loss of vision in her left eye” as a result of being hit by the volleyball, said the notice, filed by her father, Idrees Karim.

The civil filings do not say why Takeya wasn’t allowed to participate in contact sports or give further details about the alleged incident.
