Sex Offender Allowed To Coach By Wife Arrested.

Who should be BLAMED FOR THIS INCIDENT?

Sex Offender’s Wife Allowed Him To Coach Santa Cruz Youth Volleyball

This news has been making the headlines.

Here’s what we know so far:

1. The 49 year old Kjell Nilssenis married to Club Shoreline Volleyball owner Sissy Nilssen.

2. Club Shoreline Volleyball was founded 10 years ago and coaches 14 to 18 year old girls.

3. Nilssen met the underage girl in 2012 through Club Shoreline Volleyball.

4. He continued to have contact with the teen via social media and in person for over a year and a half until the teen’s parents discovered the relationship and ended it.

5. He was arrested last February 12th, 2015.

6. According to a former player Nilssen coached, he wasn’t allowed to coach anyone privately or alone. When he ran practices there were other coaches there. From what she’s heard, he wasn’t allowed to do anything by himself.

7. Nilssen is already a convicted sex offender for a similar incident and he was arrested in 2001 by the Santa Clara Police Department.

8. Nilssen has been charged with contacting a minor with the intent to have sex, failure to register as a sex offender, and working with minors as a convicted sex offender.

9. Nilssen posted a $20,000 bond, released and will be arraigned in court next week.

10. As of press time, Nilssen’s profile has been removed from Shoreline Volleyball’s website.

A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS:

Always ask the club if they do a background check for all their coaches and staff members who work with minors.

Seriously, it doesn’t HURT to ask.
