Parent Threatens Coach

ATTENTION: To all volleyball parents out there, there’s a reason why your child is not in the starting six. There’s a reason why your child is a bench player. The coach knows best (not at all times but there’s a reason he or she is the team coach). Respect the decision of the coaching staff. Your child’s shining moment will come soon.

Don’t be like 61 year old John Kasik from Illinois.

John has been arrested and could face up to three years in prison if convicted of felony harassment. He was charged with felony telephone harassment and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct.

This is what John did…

He threatened to kill his daughter’s volleyball coach, left a voice message to rape his wife and also accused of battering the school’s athletic director. John’s actions resulted after his was benched at a regional match.

According to authorities, Mr. Kasik’s got all furious after the coach substituted his daughter off the court last Thursday. He then followed the Athletic Director’s vehicle, pulled up next to him and began shouting about the match which the team lost. Kasik was invited to speak about it the next day but the athletic director failed to convince him.

John went home and then sent several text messages and voice mails to coach Matt Hrubesky. The texting started from 9:30 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. according to police.

Dang! We hope John has unlimited texting in his phone plan. JK!

Due to these actions. the victims filed a police report, John was arrested but posted $30,000 cash bond for his release and the rest is history.

His court appearance will be on Nov. 19th.

“It’s unfortunate when parents react this way and take their frustrations out on school personnel. We will protect these people so they can do their jobs and not have to worry about these kinds of threats.” according to DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin.
