Pan Am Cup in Mexico

Wow! They’re hosting again!

For the second consecutive year, the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez will host the XI Women’s Pan American Cup from July 4th until July 14th, 2012 with 8 teams from NORCECA and 4 from South American.

Peru was supposed to host the 2012 editoin but had to withdraw and will do it next year instead.

In case you didn’t know, this tournament serves as a qualifier to the FIVB World Grand Prix of the following year. The top 4 NORCECA and top 2 South Am teams win the spots and will get a chance to compete in the biggest annual FIVB volleyball event.

Brazil is the defending champs.

With the Olympics just 2 weeks after the tournament, we have a feeling we’re going to see lots of up and coming stars playing at this tournament.

Anyone going?
