There’s Bad Blood…
In an interview released by esportes.estadao.com.br, Russian star player Nataliya Goncharova reveals that Brazilian players are NOT that friendly to her and the rest of her teammates. When asked on why doesn’t like the Brazilian volleybelles:
“It’s not about liking them or not. Brazilian players never talk to us at all like when we’re at the hotel. They don’t greet us and don’t even say good morning, good afternoon and goodnight.”
She also adds there’s RIVALRY that has been going on for years.
“There is a great rivalry between Russia and BRAZIL. But this is not new and it comes from other generations. Nothing changed.”
After Russia’s heartbreaking loss against Brazil at the 2012 Olympics, no doubt the rivalry has gone up to the next level.

The Russian muse who has reportedly separated with Russian libero and 2012 Olympic Champion Alexey Obmochaev shares that having the legendary Lioubov Sokolova on the team is a big plus.
“I think it would be great to have Lyuba. She is an experienced player.”
BUT when asked if Gamova will return to the upcoming World Cup…
“I do not know. You should ask this question to our coach.”
In case you didn’t know, Sokolova is on Russia’s preliminary roster for the World Cup while Gamova is NOT.
