Wilfredo Leon Will Play For Poland Very Soon

Cuban turned Polish volleyball superstar, Wilfredo Leon, confirms that he will indeed play for National Team very soon according to his latest IG post. The outside hitter made his first public appearance wearing a Polish jersey this weekend during Pawel Zagumny’s All Star Retirement Match.

Yesterday I had an honour to play in Paweł Zagumny's farewell game. For him it was the last match in the Polish national team and I was very happy to join him in Spodek. Zagumny is a volleyball legend and a great person. Paweł, gratuluję wspaniałej kariery w reprezentacji! Swoją grą i postawą zasłużyłeś na tak piękne pożegnanie 👏👏👏 For me yesterday's match was also special because I could finally join the national team of Poland. It was of course an unofficial game and unfortunately I didn't get a chance to enter the court in the Polish jersey but I would like to thank Polish fans for giving me a warm and loud welcome. Dziękuje polskim kibicom za serdeczne i głośne powitanie w reprezentacji! To było dla mnie wspaniałe uczucie. I hope that my official debut will come soon. ⚪🔴

We have a feeling he will make his debut next year at the FIVB World League and will wear the #9 on his jersey.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR LEON? He will return to Russia and join his club, Zenit Kazan, for the 2016/2017 season.
