The moment we heard about this news, we felt like this…
After Bulgaria won a Wooden Spoon (4th place) at the recently concluded European Championship, there’s a rumor that former National Team superstar Matey Kaziyski is planning on rejoining the team to help them compete at the World Championship Qualification tournament early next year.
As much as we want to believe that this could happen or it has a bit of truth, we DON’T THINK Matey will play for Bulgaria again anytime soon.
Together with former coach Stoytchev, he has been very vocal that he will only wear his jersey again as long as the Bulgarian Federation will change its ways, ie some federation officials must resign due to their poor work ethics.
For now, this news remains as a rumor.
However, we can’t wait for that day to come when Matey and Sokolov would lead the Bulgarian to win gold or silver or bronze and not another wooden spoon.
In case you didn’t know, Matey has left Trentino to play for Turkish club team Halkbank Ankara with Juatorena, Djuric and Coach Stoytchev.
