Volleyball Sensation Paola Egonu Comes OUT

SHE IS BRAVE AND WE ARE SO PROUD OF HER!!!

Italian volleyball sensation and 2018 World Championship silver medalist Paola Egonu comes out and reveals that she is currently in a relationship. Her girlfriend is none other than Polish setter Katarzyna Skorupa.

A picture of the two KISSING is all over social media after Paola and her club team Novara lost to Conegliano in the Supercoppa last Sunday.

In one of her most recent interviews, the 19 year old revealed that she called and talked to the 34 year old Skorupa after Italy lost to Serbia in the gold medal match of the World Championship.

“I went back to the hotel and called my girlfriend. I cried and she consoled me. she told me that losses are bad but they give us lessons that must be learned.”

When asked on how long has she been in a relationship, the World Championship medalist prefers not to further talk about her personal life. She also said that she does NOT CARE about the opinions of other people about her life and career.

Do you want to become the strongest in the world?

“Let’s see.”

How did you start playing volleyball?

“I would finish my homework early so I’d just be sitting on the couch. Then my father said I should try sports. I then saw volleyball and found it amusing so then I took the opportunity to play it.”

The biggest sacrifice?

“Leaving home. I was just 13 years old. I left my mom, dad, brother, sister, friends & everything.”

What is love?

“I do not know. I’m discovering it now, maybe. I think love is in everything.

In case you didn’t know, Paola and Katarzyna are not the only gay couple in volleyball who are proud of the love they share. Brazilian middle blocker Carol is dating Dutch player Anne Buijs. Other female athletes who are out and proud are 2016 Olympic gold medalist and beach volleyball player Kira Walkenhorst who will soon become a parent to triplets., Olympic medalist Stacy Sykora and 2000 Olympic champion Natalie Cook.
