After Kaziyski’s apology, it’s Bruno Rezende’s turn to say sorry.
The Brazilian setter has released his statement via Modena’s Facebook Page:
“Voglio scusarmi con tutti per quanto avvenuto ieri. Ho reagito in modo eccessivo a una provocazione subita sotto rete da un mio compagno, alla quale sono seguite pesanti offese arrivate da parte di un altro avversario. Nonostante quanto avvenuto non sia partito da me, non voglio cercare giustificazioni: noi giocatori dobbiamo sempre dare il buon esempio.
La pallavolo è uno sport meraviglioso e tale deve restare: non vedo l’ora di voltare pagina e giocare a Trento lunedì, una gara che sarà sicuramente un bellissimo spettacolo di tifo corretto e giocate di alto livello.”
Translation:
“I want to apologize to everyone for what happened yesterday. I overreacted to a situation after another player tried to provoke my teammate. It was then followed by serious offenses by another opponent.
I did not start the fight but I don’t want to look for excuses. Athletes must always set a good example. Volleyball is a wonderful sport and it must remain this way.
I can’t wait to move on and play in Trentoon Monday, a match that will surely be high level.”
