We are not surprised at all. France won the 2015 European Championship and a bronze medal at the 2016 FIVB World League while Russia has NOT won any GOLD medal at all within the last 2 years. The last time Russia won gold was at the 2013 Euro Volley.
Italy remains as the 2nd ranked team while The Dutch team finally enters the Top 10 after a long time. 2015 Euro Volley silver medalists, Slovenia, exits from the Top 10 and sits at #11.
