Didn’t he retire just a few months ago?
French outside hitter, Stephane Antiga, has decided to resurrect his volleyball suit for the upcoming Polish club season. Antiga will now play for Bydgoszcz. The 35 year old previously played four seasons with Skra Belchatow wherein he won several Polish League and Polish Cup titles.
According to a source, Antiga was courted by Turkish club team Fenerbahce for the 2011/2012 season but the negotiation didn’t push through due to the corruption charges against the club manager. The source added that Antiga is the highest paid player of the team because of his “experience”.
We didn’t see a lot of Antiga last season so we hope he’d finally step up this time around and show us he’s capable of doing. He is a very relaxed and very smart player so no doubt his presence on his new Polish club team will make a difference.
