Oz Federation Get$ $ome…

Great news for the Australian Volleyball Federation!

The Solomon Islands Volleyball Federation (SIVF) received $75,000 grant from the Australian Sports Outreach Program for further development of the sport. The $$$ will be used to:

  • To help build the capacity of committed individuals and organizations to manage and deliver activities.
  • Use quality and inclusive sport and physical activities.
  • Contribute to improved leadership, health promotion and social cohesion.

No doubt that this assistance will be  a huge boost for sport in the country.

The SIVF President Morris Maitaki  has released this statement thanking the Oz government for the assistance:

This is another milestone for volleyball and a good start for our federation in 2011. This is a gift from ASOP and I will ensure that we achieve our objective. Since I was elected to the federation back in 2007, our federation has been struggling to develop the sport throughout provinces due to finance. However, with the timely assistance from ASOP, this will be a boost for our volleyball development program in the provinces. This would be the second time the federation received   this grant.

Well we’re so happy for you Mr. Morris! Make sure you spend the $$$ wisely!

Anyways, we wish the SIVF the best!
