After checking with several sources, we can finally confirm the rumors that Olympic champion Zhu Ting will leave her Turkish club team, Vakifbank, and will play in the Chinese League next season.
“As much as she wanted to stay in Turkey, it just doesn’t work like that. Chinese players who are part of the senior national team are REQUIRED by the Chinese Federation to return to China the season before the Olympics.” -source.
In case you forgot, Zhu joined Vakifbank right after the 2016 Olympics and led the Turkish club team to several major titles such as the Club World Championship and CEV Champions League. Zhu also won several major individuals awards within the last 3 years.
Zhu will conclude her career with Vakifbank in the final round of the Turkish League against their rivals from Eczacıbaşı VitrA Voleybol.
