USA Dethrones Brazil & Regains #1 Spot

Team USA is back as the #1 team in the world after winning the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship. World Champs silver medalists China moves up to #3 and is now the highest ranked Asian team which was previously held by Japan who is now #4.

Dominican Republic moves up from #10 to #6 after a very successful campaign at the World Championship by finishing 5th. Bethania De La Cruz and Team DR are also the highest gainer among the teams in the Top 10.

Russia moves down 2 spots (#5 to #7) while Kim Yeon Koung and Korea drop to #10 after missing the World Champs.

Former European powerhouse Poland is out of the Top 25 and falls to #28. Without a strong National Team, the future does not look too bright for the former European Champions. Poland is also the biggest loser among the teams in the Top 30 followed by Peru (#13 to #23).

Elitsa Vasileva and Bulgaria from #35 to #23. Cuba

Cuba is out of the Top 25 and is now ranked #26 from #22.

After competing at the 2014 World Champs, Belgium, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Canada, Croatia, The Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Tunisia and Azerbaijan gain points enough to move them higher into the FIVB World Rankings.
