Referees are NOT perfect and a questionable call during a very close match can also be heartbreaking.
FIVB President Ary Graca tells rsport.ru that starting MAJOR tournaments, ie World League, World Grand Prix and World Championship, will use The Challenge System.
“We invest a lot of money in technology and we do not want to depend on a decision of a single person (referee).
We want that players decide the winner, not referees. The more mistakes I am seeing from referees in various competitions, the more I am confident that video technology is a necessity for volleyball.”
However, Mr. President still hasn’t mentioned if The Challenge System will be used during the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
