Due to personal reasons which Mari declined to specify, the 2008 Olympic gold medalist has been released by Coach Guimaraes from his Pan American team. The tournament is from June 29th – July 10th, 2011 in Mexico.
On the other hand, Mari has assured her fans that there’s no drama between her and Coach Ze, she’s healthy, she’s in full training and that she will represent Brazil at the 2011 World Grand Prix.
Paula, Fernanda Garay and Suelle are now the only outside hitters left on the team together with (setters) Dani Lins, Fabíola, (opposite) Sheilla, Ju Nogueira, (middle) Fabiana, Thaisa, Juciely and (libero) Fabi.
We’re a little bummed out but we totally respect her decision. Sheilla We’ll miss you!
