The Best Scorer and bronze medalist at the recently concluded European Champs receives a sweet surprise when the love of his life welcomes him at the airport in Belgrade. Alek’s pretty gf & pop singer, Sara Jo.
Alek shares…
“I was surprised; I did not know that she would come. Throughout the Championship, I had a big support from my parents and Sara, and I`m grateful for that.”
As for winning a medal despite the tough competition…
“I`m glad that we are all together, celebrating one more medal in our history. After two years we are here again, in front of all Serbia, standing with the bronze medal. For us, young players that is very important because we have a new team, without big Ivan Miljković who was a captain in Vienna, brothers Grbić, Vujević, etc.
I must say big bravo to our staff who has worked very hard with us. We have started with the preparation on May, and until now it past five months. It wasn`t easy, we had to work very hard as we play with teams such as Russia, Italy…but we have proved that youth and motivation can deal with all.“

What’s next for the Serbian opposite?
He and a few young teammates will compete at the Under 23 FIVB World Championship to be held in Brazil.
“I hope that people from all Serbia, especially journalist will support us. We want another medal. Joining me in Brazil are Nikola Jovović, Marko Ivović and Srećko Lisinac.”
