USA’s Matt Anderson

MATT IS SINGLE!

You better fall in line ladies coz it looks like there’s already a longgggggggggg line to win Matt’s heart.

The Volleyball Player:

Matt Anderson has been a member of the U.S. Men’s National Team since 2008. He is a 2012 Olympian who brought home a silver medal from the FIVB World League that same year. In 2013, Anderson won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship, was named MVP and was a member of the all-star team.

The Person:

Born in 1987, he is the son of Nancy and Michael Anderson (who passed away in January 2010). He has three older sisters (Jennifer, Joelle and Amy) and one older brother, Joshua. Anderson attended Penn State and left college before his senior year to play for the Hyundai Capital Skywalkers, a professional volleyball club in Korea. He was the 2008 AVCA Co-Player of the Year with Paul Lotman of Long Beach State and won the NCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship that year with the Nittany Lions. Anderson attended West Seneca West High School and led the boys’ volleyball team to a 17-0 regular-season record during his senior year.

Did You Know?

As the youngest player on the U.S. Men’s Olympic Volleyball Team in 2012, Anderson was named the USA Volleyball Male Indoor Player of the Year. He won the title again in 2013, when he sometimes started at opposite instead of outside hitter. Anderson has been the U.S. Men’s leading scorer every season since 2011.
