The statues were officially presented in 2011 and we’ve always thought how they were made.
Luckily, we’ve found this video showing the making of Gamova’s 4 meter statue.

Watch how Ekaterina Gamova, Russia’s Volleyball national team member, was captured with an Artec MH 3D scanner. It’s a part of the International Volleyball Federation’s (FIVB) marketing campaign from last summer. Main goal was to create a 4 m statue of the sportswoman afterwards.
In case you didn’t know, there are only 4 players in the world who have their own statues created by the FIVB.
Aside from Gamova, there’s Olympic champion Kerri Walsh, Brazilian beach volleyball legend Emanuel Rego and the one and only Murilo Endres.
