ALYSSA VALDEZ (PHILIPPINES)

After losing the 2013 Volleywood Idol Crown to Peruvian star player Angela Leyva, the Pride Of The Philippines has finally won the IDOL crown. Alyssa Valdez aka The Phenom is now the 2nd Filipino player to win Volleywood Idol after her compatriot, Rachel Daquis, won last year’s competition.

2015 was a busy year for the Alyssa. After winning the 2015 UAAP crown for the 2nd year in a row with the Ateneo Lady Eagles, Valdez competed in 2 continental tournaments, the 2015 Asian Women’s U23 Volleyball Championship & the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. The 22 year had the honor to be the flag bearer during the parade of nations at the SEA Games in Singapore.

Spin.ph recognized her as one of the “Ten Sports Heroes of 2015: Sportsmen Who Change The Game” and was also named as Miss Volleyball 2015 by the Philippine Sportswriters Association.

Outside volleyball, Valdez is one of the country’s top (volleyball) endorsers. She is also the world’s most followed female volleyball player on Twitter with more than 580,000 followers. On Instagram, she has almost half a million followers. She also has tons of fan pages in various social media networks.

Alyssa can now add her VOLLEYWOOD WORLD IDOL title to all numerous achievements on and off the volleyball court.
