The MEANING Behind Japan’s RED Mizuno Gear

RED is their lucky color!

You may have noticed the red Mizuno volleyball gear the Japanese volleyball players wear as they host and compete in the ongoing World Championship. We have reached out to Mizuno Japan and we’ve now learned that the RED color has a deeper meaning for the team.

RED FOR JAPAN

The red color represents the PASSION for the game shared by players and fans alike. The red uniform is a way to express that the entire Japan is coming together and standing with the team side by side in every match. At the World Championship, there is a strong desire within the team to make a successful tournament especially now that Japan is part of the Final 6.

The red volleyball shoes come 4 different styles: Wave Lightning Z4, Wave Tornado X2, Wave Luminos & Royal Phoenix 2. We can’t even pick one as our favorite.

We LOVE them all!!!

TRIVIA: Japan wore their red Mizuno jersey and shoes when they played against Brazil. Despite losing in 5 sets, Japan ended the second round with a better record than Brazil to qualify for the Final 6.

The Final 6 kicks off on October 14th. Japan is in pool G with Serbia and Italy while Pool H has The Netherlands, China and USA.

Ganbatte Nippon!
