Samsung GALAXY 11: Cristiano Ronaldo final member selected (Video)

Samsung is putting together a team of the 11 best players in the world on a team called the “GALAXY 11″ to take on a threatening alien race in a “winner takes all” match. They’re announcing the team week by week. Their latest addition to the team is Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is clearly one of the best players in the world, not only is he a 2013 Ballon d’Or finalist, he is the favorite to win the award. Since Lionel Messi’s initial selection video, the rest have been relatively short videos under 20 seconds. Ronaldo’s was a full minute. He is playing against a women’s volleyball team by himself, but he is only using his soccer skills.

Then some men enter the room and he turns and walks off and speaks into his Galaxy Gear device to clear his schedule, sensing the imposing and difficult challenge awaiting the team.

No two players from the same country, it is truly an international team.

This all-star team will attempt to save the planet from alien domination in a “winner takes all” match on a virtual field. On December 18, Samsung will provide additional details and insights into the full story of how each player was recruited to join the Galaxy 11 team.

Cristiano Ronaldo named alongside Messi in ‘Galaxy XI’. Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has become the latest player selected as part of the ‘Galaxy XI’ assembled with the objective of ‘saving the world’.

28-year-old Ronaldo has joined the likes of rival Lionel Messi, Real teammate Iker Casillas, German starlet Mario Gotze and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney as part of Franz Beckenbauer’s side to beat the aliens and save earth from their threat.

It’s not real of course (at least we hope not), rather part of a clever if somewhat surprisingly extravagant marketing campaign from South Korean giants Samsung that has certainly caught people’s attention.

Ronaldo, who of course joined the La Liga giants from Manchester United for a then world-record fee in 2009, will hope that such important duties do not distract too much from his day job – with the small matter of Real’s season and his own 2013 Ballon d’Or award chances at stake.

Real Madrid currently sit third in the La Liga table, three points behind first-placed Barcelona and cross-city rivals Atletico.

Equipazo. Todo esto forma parte de una campaña publicitaria de la empresa tecnológica Samsung que a través de la imagen de estos cracks piensan lanzar una serie de novedosos productos al mercado. Messi y Cristiano estarán acompañados por otros monstruos como Aleksandr Kerzhakov, Wayne Rooney, Iker Casillas, Stephan El Shaarawy, Mario Gotze, entre otros.

Aún es misterio. Samsung no ha dado mayores detalles de lo que será el choque entre ambos cracks del fútbol y extraterrestres. Lo que es un hecho, es que sí los veremos a ambos sobre una cancha, algo que en la vida real probablemente nunca se haga realidad.
