We wonder if she’s going to take this car with her when she returns to Korea…
Korean superstar and one of the world’s best players, Kim Yeon Koung, received a new car from Korean car company, Hyundai, last week. Kim YK graced the special event in casual clothing and also gave away a signed jersey to the Hyundai staff based in Istanbul where she is currently playing professionally for Fenerbahce.
Moments after getting her new wheels, Kim tweeted:
“Thank you Hyundai 🙂 I received the car I’ve been long awaiting! Thank you hyundai! Thank you again to my fans! I was able to receive this car because of your support and your interest in me. Please continue to cheer for me! I promise I will drive safely. Haha!”
In case you didn’t know, Kim plans on wearing her Fenerbahce wings for many years. She has so m uch love and respect for the team as well the as beautiful city of Istanbul.
“Of course I would like to wear Fenerbahce jersey for many years like Alex (Fenerbahce football player). I love Fenerbahçe so much. I love the Turks. This is a nice to play here, it is very good in terms of relationships. After all we are professional players. We can play all over the place. But I am very happy to come to Turkey to play volleyball. Asia and Europe have a different culture in volleyball. I love to learn something new about every culture”.
Kim also shared a thought on her team’s goal this season.
“We are behind the other competitors, however, we will continue our preparations. We aim to do better in the second half of the league.”
No doubt Turkish volleyball fans have also started to love her even more.
In case her drama with her old Korean club team and the Korean Federation fail to decide on her status as a “Free Agent”, then Turkey can be her second home.
