One of Turkey’s best volleyball players to ever play for the national team, Gözde Kırdar Sonsırma, is now an mother. She and her husband Alessandro Bracceschi welcomed their first child a couple of days ago and named their daughter Mavi.

Gozde officially retired from the national team in 2017 after a successful career which includes a trip to the 2012 Olympics in London and a bronze medal at the 2012 FIVB Grand Prix. The year after, she played her last professional season with Vakifbank. Her pro career ended with a gold medal at the CEV Champions League and an MVP Award.
The 32 year old has a twin sister, Ozge Kirdar, who plays as a setter.
Gozde’s husband may look very familiar to you because he is the strength and conditioning coach for Vakifbank. The couple tied the knot in 2017.
