He is one of the few players we truly adore on and off the court. He’s got a BIG HEART!

We’ve been informed by our Polish friend, Katarzyna ‘Perko’ Perkowska, that Lukasz will be donating his Babo-Chan for an upcoming auction next month. Here’s what Katarzyna shared:

Polish setter, Łukasz Żygadlo is a well-known athlete not only because of years of playing with the Polish National Team but also because he is committed to help charity groups. Recently I had met Łukasz in Legionowo before the World Cup started. I asked him if he would like to help us with our upcoming volleyball auction. He was worried at first that he had nothing left to giveaway but a few seconds later told me that if he’d get something from the World Cup then he’d donate it.

Help is never too late.

After an impressive performance last Monday during their World Cup match versus the United States, Lukasz was chosen as the Most Impressive Player Of The Match and was awarded with a Babo-Chan, the tourney’s official mascot.

Keeping his promise, Lukasz has decided to donate his Babo-Chan for the auction. With all my heart and on behald of S-W-O.PL, I would like to thank Lukasz for the donation. We have already received several items like shirts, scarves, balls and even a shirt from Asseco Resovia Rzeszów with the players signature.

The money from the auction will be donated to Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy who will use the funds to help children in need.

The first auctions will be posted soon but for now…
