Iranian Volleyball VS AIDS

This is just awesome news!

Per FIVB:

Iran’s Volleyball Federation has signed an accord to help UNICEF tackle the worldwide problem of AIDS and HIV after signing a trilateral agreement with UNICEF and the Iranian Health Ministry.

The agreement was signed by the president of Volleyball Federation Dr. Muhammad Reza Davarzani, the general manager of infectious diseases from Iran’s Ministry of Health & Medical Education, Dr. Muhammad Mehdi Gouya and the head of the office of UN’s Children’s Fund in Tehran, Dr. Muhammad Al-Munir Safiudin.

Iranian actress and UNICEF Iran goodwill Ambassador Mahtab Keramati witnessed the signing.

“The Volleyball Federation is eager to enhance public health in the society,” Dr. Davarzani said. “Therefore, the message from the national players is to fight this virus as they can greatly contribute to the promotion of public health.

“The main purpose of any kind of sport is the health of people and society hence we are hopeful that this agreement helps to improve the health of all Iranians.”
