Doug Beal, CEO of USA Volleyball, and coach of the women’s team, Hugh McCutcheon, have released their respective statements regarding the bus accident involving Stacy Sykora.

“USA Volleyball is aware of the situation involving Stacy Sykora and has reached out to her family members. USA Volleyball has also been in contact with the Brazil Volleyball Federation, the U.S. consulate’s office in Brazil and the Brazilian hospital for additional information on the situation. From what we have gathered, we expect a full recovery by Stacy and her Brazilian pro teammates. Stacy is an iconic member of our U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team and is one of our most engaging players with the fans. She is a key member of the team as it competes to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games.” – USAV CEO Doug Beal

“On behalf of the U.S. Women’s National Team staff, I want to wish Stacy a full and speedy recovery – our thoughts are certainly with her.
