Sorry Fernanda…

This might sting a little bit…

Coach Ze Roberto has already stated that he has no intentions of inviting the great Fernanda Venturini to play for the National Team despite her return to the Superliga next season.

Ouch!

Coach Ze said that he deeply respects Venturini and Fofao and that they are world class setters but it’s time to give the younger setters the chance to shine, follow their footsteps and lead Brazil.

Out of all the setters that Coach Ze, we wonder who can follow the footsteps of Fernanda and Venturini.

Maybe Fabiola? She has what it takes!

Dani Lins? As long as she doesn’t get nervous during crucial moments, then she can be the next one.

Ana Christina? As long as she doesn’t argue with Paula like last season. Kidding!

Ana Tiemi? We’d have to say no.

Carol? We thought she was next in line after Fofao left but she disappeared from the National Team after winning the gold in Beijing.

Ze has a lot of choices but it would really take time for these new breed of setters to shine and make a name for themselves like what Fernanda and Fofao have done.

As for Coach Ze’s decision not to invite Fernanda, we totally agree with him. It’s about time for others to take the role and hopefully lead Brazil to more success.

We have a feeling Fernanda will tell her husband, Bernardinho Rezende, about Ze’s decision. Kidding! To read more about Venturini’s return, click THIS.

Thoughts?
