Coach Babini Slams Quiroga

February 8th UPDATE: One thing we’ve learned in life is that there’s always 2 sides to every story. While Quiroga left his Italian club team, Ravenna, without any press release (as far as we know), his ex-coach took time to dish about the reason why Quiroga left.

Here’s what Coach Antonio Babini said about Quiroga’s departure:

“The reality is that A1 (Italian league) rejected Quiroga, not the contrary, as he tried to make us believe. His performance was far below the investment the society made for him. No doubt i won’t keep a player that is not bent on remaining here. I’m sorry I don’t make reference to a person that at the first occasion showed how much he was attached to this team, not very much”

We totally respect his words yet we wonder if Rodrigo has something to say. We doubt it! Seems like he’s over this drama and he seems happier playing together with Ivan Miljkovic, Leonel Marshall and the rest of the Fenerbahce Titans.

THOUGHTS?

If Facundo Conte can do it, Quiroga can do it too!

Hahaha!

Just like his National Team teammate Facundo who moved from Energy Resources San Giustino to Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza before the start of the second half of the Italian League, the “unsung hero” from Argentina Rodrigo Quiroga has joined Turkey’s most publicized club team, Fenerbahce.

Before the transfer, Quiroga played for Italian club team CMC Ravenna.

The outisde hitter now joins Ivan Miljkovic and Leonel Marshall to strengthen the team after a disappointing Champions League campaign. Coach Castellani’s squad has missed the Playoffs of 12 again for the second consecutive year but has moved on to compete in the CEV Challenge Cup. Quiroga is such an amazing all around player. He’s very smart and he totally is a “silent killer”. We hope his presence will help The Titans defend their Turkish League crown and also in the Challenge Cup.

This is a safe good move for Rodrigo knowing his former club team is currently ranked last in the Italian League. Playing in Turkey for Fenerbahce will totally boost his volleyball resume plus he gets to show his amazing skills to thousands volleyball fans.

We can’t wait to see him wear that Fenerbahce jersey!

Have fun in Turkey Rodri!
