Lukasz’s recovery is looking good…

October 10th, 2013

After days of evaluating their options, it looks like Zenit Kazan has decided to hire…

Per Lloy Ball’s tweet…

Yes that’s right!

Kazan had contacted 2 of the world’s best setters, Lloy Ball and Nikola Grbic. In the end, the Serbian playmaker got the job.

In case you’re wondering how bad is Ziomek’s injury, well have a look…

That looks baddddddd!

But then again, just like what he said “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger”.

Get well soon Ziomek!

UPDATE: Russian club team Zenit Kazan has officially confirmed the news that Lukasz will be out for an indefinite period of time.

We’ve been told that it’s pretty serious & the season might be over for Lukasz.

As of press time, the Polish setter is admitted at a hospital in Kazan for more diagnosis with a possibility of having surgery.

Source says…

“During training yesterday, Lukasz sprained his ankle after he collided with his teammate after a block attempt. Initially, everyone thought that it was something minor but sadly it’s a more serious injury. There’s a tear in his left ankle and he will have surgery for sure. His recovery is expected to last for 5 months or even longer.”

The source also adds that Zenit Kazan is already in the process of looking for a new setter.

“Kazan is fishing at the moment and hopefully they will find the ideal candidate to replace Lukasz. The market is pretty much closed since the new season has started but they are doing everything in their power to find one.” adds the source.

We are extremely sad with this news. It would’ve been amazing to see Lukasz setting for some of the world’s best players like USA’s Matt Anderson and Olympic Champion Maxim Mikhaylov.

For now, let’s keep Zygadlo in our prayers and that he’d have a speedy recovery.

Be strong Lukasz!
