JT Thunders’ Coach Vukovic Unhappy With Kurek

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Poland’s star player Bartosz Kurek was supposed to play in the Japanese League with JT Thunders this 2016-2017 season under Coach Veselin Vukovic. Unfortunately, Kurek would no longer play with the team due to some health issues which was revealed by his manager. On other hand, rumors started to rise that he would stay in Poland to play for his former club team, Skra Belchatow. A few weeks later, those rumors became official and Kurek signed on to play for Skra.

MORE THAN A WEEK AGO::

Obviously, Coach Vukovic was not happy very happy with what Kurek and his camp did.

“I expected something like this from Kurek. It just tells you a lot about the kind of person he is. JT Thunders is a great club where he would have gained even more experience but he chose a different path. Kurek made a bad picture of himself in the public.

He said that he “needs time to recover” is quite funny. I always start with the presumption that people are honest. I wish Bartosz was honest to us. He could have said that he changed his mind and he no longer wants to play in Japan.”

Coach Veselin also revealed to sportowefakty.wp.pl the conversation he had with Kurek when they met in Poland.

“He said that he was suffering from panic attacks and a Polish doctor confirmed this by giving us a medical report. The doctor also said that Kurek must undergo treatment for 6-8 weeks. JT Thunders could not wait for him. While this was going on, Kurek started trainings with Belchatow. Things became clear to me then.

I wish him the best.”

JT Thunders has replaced him with Serbian opposite spiker and 2016 FIVB World League Champion Drazen Luburic.

Here’s a pic of Kurek training with Skra a few days ago.
