Drama in the French League

Not just 1 team but 6!!!

Volleyball.it reports that 6 club teams in the French League from various divisions are in hot water with the CACCP (Commission d’Aide et de Contrôle des Clubs Professionnels) due to financial irregularities. The CACCP, which controls the budget and the accounts of the clubs in France, have given the teams below 10 days to appeal:

Nantes (League A male)
– 6 points deducted
– Market locked until the end of the season
– Relegation of the club’s administration as a precautionary measure

Albi (League A female)
– 9 points deducted
– Market locked until the end of the season
– Relegation of the club’s administration as a precautionary measure

Mulhouse (League A female)
– 3 points deducted
Calais (League A female)
– 9 points deducted
– Market locked until the end of the season
– Relegation of the club’s administration as a precautionary measure

Cambrai (Ligue B male)
– 3 points deducted

Harnes (League B male)
– 3 points deducted

Yikes!

On a positive note, it’s great that the CACCP is doing a great job monitoring the various leagues.

We don’t want these players to experience the same fate like Italian women’s club team, Modena. The owners of that team were so messed up that a major sponsor was just a hoax. Players like Aguero, Alisha Glass, Christa Harmotto and many others left the team without getting paid since the start of the season.
