Murilo Endres To Have Surgery

July 31st, 2013

Just when news came out that he’d transfer to another Brazilian club team, the dad-to-be and currently recovering Murilo Endres has decided to renew his contract with Sesi-SP.

Murilo says…

“I was very happy with the invitation from Sesi-SP. This is my second home. I have a very strong bond with the team. I am recovering very well and want to go back to the court soon. I will stay in São Paulo and this was my will, to be close to Jacqueline and our unborn child.”

From Paulo Skaf, president of Sesi-SP:

“Murilo is more than a great volleyball player, he is one of the best in the world. Murilo is an example for the children and youth of our country. We are very happy to have him in another season so that he can continue inspiring new talents in the Brazilian volleyball.”

One of the perks of being a great and talented player is that any team is willing to accommodate your needs and demands.

With Murilo playing for Sesi, no doubt they’d have a good season to look forward to.

Congrats BB!

We’re super happy to share the news that Murilo is recovering just as planned.

Last June 4th, he tweeted this pic:

It’s been more than 2 months since he had a surgery for his right shoulder and Jaqueline’s husband is thankful that he is doing just fine.

Better than expected to be exact.

He says…

“I am very happy with my recovery. I feel good with how my body is responding after surgery. I just need to be more patient. My goal is for my shoulder to become 100%.

Muscle strengthening is the next step for me.

As for my future, I have not signed on to play for any team because my recovery is my main priority. I will only return to volleyball when my shoulder is fully recovered. I don’t want to risk myself nor play with limitations in case I choose to return prematurely.”

That’s good to know BB!

You need to make sure you’re fit enough to play again.

No rush at all!

After more than a year, Murilo finally decides to go under the knife.

Murilo says:

“I’ll do the surgery for my right shoulder as soon as possible. For professional reasons, I had to wait for a long time to take care of it. Now is the right time. I am going to see the doctor very soon to schedule it.

I had the option to get it done last year but I opted to play at the 2012 Olympics since my team and I waited for 4 years to compete. I also decided to play in the Superliga for the current season. If I decided to have the surgery after the Olympics, that I wouldn’t be able to play in the Superliga which was not fair for my club team, Sesi.

Coach Rezende is aware of my current condition and he supports my decision. He’s well informed since he’s had conversations with the team dcotor, Dr. Ney.

I believe this is a great year for Coach Rezende to use and discover young players to represent the team. There’s no doubt he will achieve success in the World League knowing that he’s been successful coaching the team for more than 12 years.

I will talk to Coach Rezende very soon so he and I can discuss our goals for my future with the Brazilian National Team.”

In case you didn’t know, Murilo and Team Sesi failed to advance to the Final Match of the Superliga after losing the semifinal round to Sada Cruzeiro.

Murilo also plans to watch the women’s final match tomorrow and to support his wifey Jaqueline and Team Osasco versus Unilever.

We’re sad we wont see him this year but at the same time we strongly agree that this is the BEST time for Coach Rezende to use young players and build them up as the future of Brazilian volleyball while he’s recovering (6 months or longer).
