2 FIVB Swatch World Tour stops bite the dust.
Organizers for the Quebec Open in Canada and the Stavanger Grand Slam in Norway have withdrawn from the upcoming 2012 FIVB SWATCH World Tour due to lack of $$$.
Yikes!
“It has been a great pleasure working with the organization in Stavanger, and see how this fantastic tournament turned into one of the biggest sports event in Norway. The World Tour in Stavanger has been a first class and complex beach volleyball event with a budget of approx. three million Euros. The financial risk for this year’s tournament was simply too high.” per World Event managing director & chairman Odd Langhelle and board director Bjorn Maaseide.
