Oh MY GOSCH!

We don’t know who he really is since we don’t follow beach volleyball that much but in case you’re a beach vball fan then this news is for you…

Austrian beach player, FLORIAN GOSCH, has been forced to retire after failing to recover from a knee surgery. Florian has officially left the sport and will now focus on his other professional  life and family.

Smart decision bb. Don’t force yourself. Spending time with your family is one of the most priceless moments you can have in this lifetime.

Gosch’s final words of goodbye from THIS FIVB ARTICLE we’ve found:

“I‘m looking back to a wonderful career that made me gain invaluable experience – as an athlete as well as personally. The last 10 years were coined by many ups and downs and I always pursued my goals with maximum effort and, in hindsight, I‘m proud of what I‘ve achieved during my professional career. On this occasion I would like to thank all the people who supported me and our team. Now it‘s time to dedicate my time to my family and my prospective career in an entirely new profession. I am going to tackle my new goals equally ambitious as I did during my sportive career.”

Awwww you will always be a great player to us. Once a player, always a player. We respect and support your decision.

Florian’s beach partner is looking for a new player to play with. We want to apply but can someone tell us HOW? Kidding! Hope Alex Horst will find someone to play with in time so he can pursue his dreams to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Best wishes to Florian and Alex!
