Coach Terzic DENIES Match Fixing Accusation

Serbia’s head coach is denying the accusation that his team purposely lost to Japan and The Netherlands to eliminate Brazil’s chances of advancing to the Final 6 of the FIVB World Championship.

When asked by a press member about his decision to have his second stringers play against Japan to eliminate Brazil, Coach Terzic was NOT happy at all. According to this report, he said such accusation is STUPID.

“I cannot understand your stupid question. I don’t look at the ranking of the other teams because I don’t care about it. I just concentrate on my team’s position and push my team to do their best to win the matches.”

Some Brazilian volleyball fans were not happy with Terzic’s strategy at all. In the match against hosts Japan, his star players like Boskovic and Mihajlovic were subbed out of the match. The following day against The Netherlands, Boskovic did not play at all and Serbia played their worst match so far in the tournament losing in straight sets.

To clear the air, Terzic would like everyone to know that Boskovic has an abdominal injury but should be ok to play in the Final 6.

In case you didn’t know, the following teams have qualified for the Final 6 which starts on October 14th:

Pool G:
Italy
Serbia
Japan

Pool H:
The Netherlands
China
USA

Good luck to all teams!
