Brazil Just Can’t Beat France In The VNL Finals

Two great teams BUT France always finds a way crush the hearts of Brazil.

It was another epic 5 set match between two of the world’s best teams in the opening day of the Volleyball Nations League Final 6. In yesterday’s match, Boyer and Ngapeth led their team in front of their home fans to put the Brazilians on the edge of NOT making it to the Final 4.

Brazil will face against Serbia later today and MUST win the the match in 3 to 4 sets to keep their chances alive.

At the post match press conference, Coach Tillie praised his veteran setter – Toniutti.

“Brazil started off strong and we were a bit shy with our game, making some mistakes. They played extremely well at the beginning but then we fought and kept the ball alive. Our reception was good, which was the most important thing. They were expecting Ngapeth but Toniutti made a lot of different choices; our attack was balanced.”

Brazil’s Mauricio Borges also suffered a knee injury. He may have injured his ACL and he is now out of the tournament according to the Brazilian Federation CBV. Hopefully, he can still play at the World Champs in September.
