USA’s Aaron Russell Looking For A New Team?

Maybe he should play in Brazil. LOL! Kidding!

After Perugia’s shocking announcement the other day that they have hired Filippo Lanza for next season, we began to think what’s going to happen with Aaron Russell?

Rumor has it he is obviously not planning to remain in Perugia next season due and he may end up playing in Asia for a more lucrative contract OR transfer to another Italian club team and still compete in one of the world’s best professional leagues.

As of press time, Perugia already has the following foreign players Wilfredo Leon, Luciano De Cecco, Aleksandar Atanasijevic and Marko Podrascanin. The Italian League requires each team to field 3 Italian players as part of their starting lineup. Based on the list of players they have, the 4 aforementioned foreigners will most likely be Perugia’s starting players which leaves a very small chance for Russell to get a starting role.

We’ve been informed that Aaron has a lot of options where to play next season but he definitely wants to remain in a competitive league knowing so he can continue developing his skills for the 2020 Olympics.

“Aaron has offers left and right BUT he only wants to play in the world’s major pro leagues. He will most likely end up in Italy but at the same time there’s this tempting offer from a team in the Chinese League. He is one of the world’s best outside hitters so we should read about his decision anytime soon.” says a source.

The source also adds that Russell may end up in Lube due to Jiri Kovar’s recent failed doping test or in Modena together with Ivan Zaytsev and Micah Christenson.

For now we should just stay tuned.
