Serbia’s Sanja Malagurski Gets Cut Again

We’ve lost count on how many times Sanja has been cut from the national team for big competitions like the Olympics, World Champs and European Champs. Sanja’s absence from the team could either be injury or someone is better than her on the squad.

The Serbian outside hitter is NOT part of Coach Terzic’s final roster for the 2017 European Championship which starts in a couple of days.

Final Roster:

Setters:
Bojana Živković
Sladjana Mirković

Outside Hitters:
Bianka Buša
Tijana Malešević
Brankica Mihajlović
Bojana Milenković

Opposite Hitters:
Ana Bjelica
Tijana Bošković

Middle Blockers:
Mina Popović
Stefana Veljković
Jovana Stevanović
Milena Rašić

Liberos:
Teodora Pušić
Jelena Blagojević

There’s no official press release on Sanja’s absence but we’ve been informed she did NOT perform well during the team’s friendly matches against Bulgaria last week. There’s no word if Sanja remains committed to play for Serbia after this heartbreak.

Sanja will take some time off before she flies to Italy to train with her club team, Foppapedretti Bergamo.

Noticeably missing on the roster is star setter Ana Antonijevic who is facing a big challenge on her career after getting positive for doping.
