Olympic Champion Reid Priddy Eyes Comeback

YAY!

After an ACL tear last year, 2008 Olympic gold medalist Reid Priddy plans on making a comeback with Team USA next year.

Per USAV:

Not much has been heard from U.S. outside hitter Reid Priddy since he tore his ACL during the first weekend of the 2014 FIVB World League.

While playing in Bulgaria, Priddy (Richmond, Va.) landed awkwardly and ended his season early.

The injury forced the 36-year-old, three-time Olympian to re-evaluate his commitment to the sport.

“I think initially, as soon as the injury happened, it was sort of a, ‘Let’s check my motivation. Let’s check the future,’ ” he said in a new video interview. “The motivation was still there.”

Priddy has been rehabilitating at the American Sports Centers with U.S. Men’s athletic trainer Aaron Brock and plans to train and compete again with Team USA in 2015 as it begins the run-up to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
