It appears Chinese setter, Wei Qiuyue, is also not a happy camper playing for Igtisadchi because the team management has violated some terms of her contract.

The 2008 Olympic bronze medalist plans to LEAVE the team if management wont change its ways.

Wei says…

“They kept telling me not to worry & everything will be resolved in a short amount of time but the problems are still unresolved. The club has violated several aspects of my contract and I don’t know if I will return to the team.

My conscience is clear. I behaved professionally until the last day. And, I hope fans of Igtisadchi could see that.”

We’ve learned that Wei is expected to rejoin the team last Dec. 29th after spending Christmas in China.

As of press time, no word if she has returned to Azerbaijan.

This is RARE!

Dutch superstar Manon Flier tells azerisport.com that the President of her club team in Azerbaijan is a PAIN in the …

Here’s what she said…

“Our (club) president does not understand volleyball but he constantly interferes with the coach’s job. The President has even threatened the coach that he would dismiss him as the coach.

However, the situation does not affect my game. They are (management) happy with my work. Playing in Azerbaijan is definitely a challenge for me.”

The fact that the President meddles with the team on a constant basis and threatens the coach is definitely a CHALLENGING environment for Manon and her Igtisadchi BAKU teammates like Pleumjit Thinkaow, Onuma Sittirak, Kim Willoughby & Ma Yunwen.

In case you didn’t know, this is the second season Manon is playing in the Azeri League. Last year, she played for Azeryol. Aside from the Azeri League. Igtisadchi has qualified and will compete in the Playoffs 12 of the prestigious Champions League.

Manon has rejoined the Dutch Team for the World Championship Qualification Tournament from January 3rd-5th, 2014. The Netherlands will play against Croatia, France and Hungary.

According to Coach Vermeulen, Manon is in a much better and stronger shapre compare to her disappointing form at last year’s European Championship.

The Dutch team is in a very tough pool. Croatia, the host, has what it takes to cause a major upset.

Good luck ladies!
