WOW!

After 2 seasons in China, Polish superstar Kasia Skowronska-Dolata heads to Azerbaijan and will play for Rabita Baku this coming 2013/2014 season. In case you didn’t know, Rabita Baku is the reigning Azeri League champion and is the country’s most successful team with 2 silver medals from the prestigious CEV Champions League.

Kasia will now wear the red and yellow together with other Volleywood stars like Olympic silver medalist Foluke Akinradewo, Katarzyna Skorupa, Rachel Rourke, Aury Cruz, Natasa Krsmanovic and Brenda Castillo.

Skowronska replaces one of the world’s best hitters from Colombia, Madelynne Montaño, who will play in Turkey.

Kasia said…

“I signed a 1 year contract with Rabita and I hope that my team and I will win the Champions League. I miss playing in Europe and in the Champions League. Rabita gave me an offer which was something I could not refuse. I am very happy with this decision.”

The 2 time European Champion who turns 30 next month has attained success in Italy and Turkey but has not won the Champions League despite several chances in playing for the title.

With a new team, we hope Rabita Baku will help Kasia achieve her quest to win the most prestigious professional volleyball crown in Europe!

Kasia’s last major tournament with her Chinese club team, Evergrande, was the 2013 Asian Club Championship which they won. However, Evergrande will compete at the 2013 FIVB Club World Championship without Kasia, Carolina Costagrande and Kim Glass.
