Poland’s World League Venue

No doubt Poland is the volleyball mecca of Europe!

The National Stadium in Warsaw could possibly host the final round or maybe the preliminary of the 2013 FIVB World League. We really hope the Polish Volleyball Federation can make this happen!

The venue has 58,500 seats and is a perfect site for big sports events and world class theater and musical concerts. As a matter of fact, The National Stadium was used earlier this year for the Euro 2012 Football Tournament.

Poland’s coach Andrea Anastasi can’t hide his excitement:

“Organizing a volleyball match at the National Stadium is a great idea. It will be an amazing performance. I really want to play here, even though I realize it will not be an easy task from an organizational point of view. I like the stadium. We have been in the stands and the visibility is really good.”

At the moment, the Polish Federation is still doing some major major planning which includes a test match down the road to ensure that the world class venue is suitable for a volleyball match.

If the plan pushes through, the 2013 World League preliminary match between Poland and Brazil will be held at the said venue.

Let’s cross our toes and fingers on this one.

Come on Polish Federation! Make it happen!
