Logan on Sykora

USA Volleyball Sisters!

For the first time in over a year, Logan Tom finally speaks up about Stacy Sykora’s bus crash recovery.

Last May 14th in Dallas, Texas, 3 time Olympian Logan Tom spoke to members of the press during the “Team USA Media Summit” organized and hosted by the US Olympic Committee. The reigning queen of USA Volleyball talked about the recovery of her longtime teammate and “volleyball sister”, Stacy Sykora.

In case you didn’t know, Logan flew to Brazil from China when she found out about the the bus incident which involved Stacy Sykora and her Volei Futuro teammates

Here are some quotes from the interview released by star-telegram.com:

“You go from one second doing the sport at the highest level of anyone in the world, and the next second you can’t see. You wake up and have a big scar on your head and have your head shaved. I can’t even relate.”

“My biggest thing with Stacy is, I just want her to have patience with herself. It’s unbelievable how hard she’s working, where she’s come back from. And she’s still in the gym every day, even though it’s hard for her at times.”

“I grew up pretty much with Stacy,” Tom said. “She was there for Sydney, for Athens and for Beijing. She is pretty much my family.”

Logan also said that she would do anything for her longtime teammate and friend.

They’ve played together for such a long time (12 years?) and Logan’s words of love and support for our friend truly touch our hearts.

We really hope to see Logan and Stacy playing together in their 4th Olympic appearance even if Stacy believes her chances are slim due to her condition.

Keep believing Stacy!

We also want to share this video of Stacy at an Eye Doctor’s Clinic.

She’s come a long way and it’s very inspiring to see her journey since the incident.

We love you Stacy!
