PHOD Lost In Prague

Phil Dalhauseer and Todd Rogers aka PHOD finally LOST!

After winning the Brasilia Open and Shanghai Open, PHOD lost the 2011 Prague Open Crown to the #2 seeded Alison and Emanuel from Brazil (19-21/ 14-21). Watch how the Final Match ended:

Maybe PHOD got so tired of winning and they thought that it’d be nice to let another team win the gold? We kid! We kid!

On a serious note, Phil and Todd were on a 40 match winning streak. After this defeat, it’s time to start over again but there’s no doubt the current Olympic Champions can get on another streak. Maybe 50?

PHOD shouldn’t feel bad. They’re going to the bank tomorrow to deposit $21,000 while Emanuel and Alison might need extra security since they have $30,000 to deposit.

Heyer-Chevallier of Switzerland won the bronze medal + $15,000 against Brazil’s Cunha and Pedro.

While Czech fans were treated to world class men’s beach volleyball this weekend, Polish fans enjoyed the women’s event hosted by the beautiful city of Myslowice.

Sanne Keizer and Marleen Van Iersel from The Netherlands won the 2011 Myslowice Open after defeating Greta Cicolari and Marta Menegatti from Italy in 2 sets (21-17/ 21-18).

Ross and Kessy from the USA won the bronze medal against Germany’s Goller and Ludwig.

In case you didn’t know, Kerri Walsh played with Brittany Hochevar to sub for the injured Misty May and finished 7th. The #1 seeded Larissa and Juliana did not compete.

Anyways, congratulations to all the winners and to all the teams who competed in Prague and Myslowice for the entertaining matches!

Next stop? Beijing in 2 weeks!
