Matey Kaziyski‘s World League Poster!

Dang BB! The Bulgarian superstar doesn’t wanna share the spotlight. J-Kidding!

Well hello there Mr. Matey Kaziyski!

The World League Poster we’ve all been waiting for! First Look at the Final Round poster! We Super Like it!

From left to right: Stanley (USA), Bartman (POL) and Mikhaylov (RUS).

Zbigniew Bartman looks so serious that we’re a little scared to say dzien dobry to him! LoL!

On a serious note, we are very optimistic that Team USA will continue it’s great performance after beating Brazil this past weekend and play in the Finals. Russia is undefeated together with Italy so these teams have pretty much booked their Final Round tickets to Poland.

For now, Poland is the only team qualified because they’re hosting the Final Round.

WoW! WoW! WoW!

These posters are just amazing!

The only thing that makes us a bit sad is that Simon won’t be playing in the World League. Tears.

Italy’s World League Poster

We wonder what took them so long. Just Kidding!

From Left To Right: Simon (Cuba), Parodi (Italy), Rouzier (France) and Sung ( Korea).

In case you didn’t know, Simon will miss the tournament due to conflict while Parodi & Sung are recovering from injury.

We LIKE! We LIKE!

We would like it even more if they had time to update the poster with players who are actually playing in the World League like Leon for Simon & Savani for Parodi.

France’s MINI World League Poster

First of all, forgive us if the pic is too small. We really tried to look for the bigger version but we’re not successful yet at this point.

Anyways, we don’t have lots to say except that too bad 3 of these players will not be playing at the 2011 World League.

From Left to Right: Simon from Cuba has opted to stay in Cuba for the season, France’s Rouzier, The injured Simon Parodi from Italy and Korea’s Sung Min Moon who is also battling a foot (?) injury.

Maybe France has time to update the poster? We hope so.

Poland’s World League Poster

What happened to Clay Stanley? Why is he all the way in the back? He’s one of volleyball’s biggest stars!

Where’s the love? Just Kidding!

Left to Right: Hector Soto from Puerto Rico, tiny Clay Stanley from USA, Bartosz Kurek from Poland and Brazil’s Giba.

We think the poster looks okay but 2 things don’t seem right. First, there’s too much glow on Kurek’s face making him look like he is one of the Twilight vampires while Giba’s face looks like an older version of Harry Potter. Just saying.

Portugal’s World League Poster.

To the left to the left is Sasha Starovic from Serbia, then Joao Jose from Portugal who looks like he’s ready to play, then a Finnish player we’re not quite sure who and to the right to the right is Argentina’s Facundo Conte – son of the legendary Hugo Conte.

Overall, we LIKE this poster!

Germany’s World League Poster

To the left to the left is Bulgarian superstar Matey Kaziyski, Ferdinand Tille of Germany aka Best Libero from the 2010 World Champs, Russian opposite Maxim Mikhaylov and Tatsuya Fukuzawa from Japan.

We wanted to see more of Mikhalov but this poster will do. 8/10!

Russia’s World League Poster

This poster could’ve been better if they showed Mikhaylov’s face and they could’ve included more Russian players. Just saying.

Well, well, well look what we have here!

Poland’s brightest young star Bartosz Kurek, MVP of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Clay Stanley, the greatest player our generation has ever seen Giba and Puerto Rico’s scoring machine Hector “Picky” Soto.

This is definitely one of the best volleyball posters we’ve ever seen!

As a matter of fact, we will be in Long Beach to support Clay, Reid, Suxho and Team USA.

With three rounds at home and three away, there are a total of 12 matches for each team and an overall total of 96 matches in the intercontinental round. Cuba and Japan will be playing all of their matches away from home. Cuba, who are renovating their national stadium, will play their matches away from home this year, as will Japan following the nuclear disaster that struck the country in March.

Pool’s Ranking System

Match won 3-0 or 3-1:  3 points for the winner, 0 point for the loser.
Match won 3-2:  2 points for the winner, 1 point for the loser.

In case of tie, the teams will be classified according to the following criteria: number of matches won, sets ratio and points ratio.

Final Round qualification (8 teams)

– 4 Winners of pools and 4 second placed sides, A, B, C, D.

– 1 Host Country of the Final Round (Poland)*

*If Poland is ranked below the top two at the intercontinental stage, they still qualify for the Final Round and the three best second teams join them.

Final Round
July 6-10 2011, Gdansk, POLAND
TEAMS QUALIFIED: Poland, plus seven teams to be defined

The Final Round will be played over 5 days.

The teams are divided in two Pools “E” and “F” of four teams each and will play round-robin during the first three days. Ranking will be established as per the WL Specific Competition Regulation described above.
