Lloy Ball Retires

He’s done so much for the sport and we deeply respect his decision.

Lloy Ball Retires…

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 2008 Olympic Gold medalist will retire this year after he finishes his commitments with his current club team, Zenit Kazan.

Non comincerò la prossima stagione. A 39 anni  penso di aver dato abbastanza. Se poi dopo Natale starò bene e ci sarà una squadra di livello che cercherà un regista, potrei pensarci.” says His Majesty Lloy Ball.

( I will not play next season. At 39 I think I’ve given enough. If after Christmas I will be fine, I might take an offer from a great team.)

We’re a bit sad to hear this news. We really want him to represent the USA at the 2012 London Olympics. He might be turning 40 next year, but King LB still has what it takes and he’s definitely one of the best setters in the world up to now. No Doubt.

In our opinion, he’s too young too great to retire. Right?
